I’m Emily Lachniet, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Common Ground Therapy, a private practice based in Abingdon, Virginia. I work with adults across southwest Virginia and statewide, offering convenient and consistent access to care.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in the belief that therapy should feel approachable and relevant to everyday life. I strive to provide a space where clients feel respected, understood, and supported in making meaningful changes.

Therapy should be available to everyone, and accessibility is central to my practice. I accept multiple insurance plans and am in the process of becoming a Medicaid provider to better serve individuals across the community.
